SEO Case Study Part 2: Jack McGovern Coats Disease Foundation
In March, we first shared the results of our Jack McGovern Coats Disease Foundation (JMCDF) SEO Case Study. Over the last three months we have continued to monitor analytics on their website and we have since seen additional results regarding SEO improvement. Take a look below at how traffic to the website continues to increase and keywords continue to bring JMCDF to the top of search returns.
Increase in substantial keywords
When we first teamed up with JMCDF one of their goals was to appear on the first page of Google™ Search results for the keyword “coats disease.” As of now, when a user searches this keyword, www.coatsdiseasefoundation.org appears on the first page of the results. We were able to achieve this result by infusing relevant keywords, such as “coats disease,” within the meta titles, meta descriptions, title tags and content throughout the site.
Consistent traffic from Google
You may have seen the viral event of the 3-year-old girl whose vision was saved thanks in part to a simple Facebook message. During this time JMCDF experienced a spike in web traffic because people were looking into coats disease and finding the JMCDF page. However, even after the story died down, JMCDF receives 48 percent of their visits from Google Search. Even better, the largest percentage of visitors were new.
Increase in average page views
The new JMCDF site launched in January 2014, and from then until now we have seen a 300 percent increase in average viewers. What does this mean? People are able to find JMCDF, often on the first page, when they perform a search for keywords like “coats disease foundation,” “coats disease specialist,” “yellow-eye in flash photography” and “is coats disease curable.” But not only do they find JMCDF, they actually click to the page to learn more information on the topic of their interest.
