About
Olde Towne Cutlery is a family-owned business in Dawsonville, Georgia, offering the finest cutlery products in the market, from high-end American production manufacturers and mid-tech producers to custom European imports and vintage collectibles. Thanks to research-based quality, they focus on providing customers with high-quality products that exceed their expectations.
Olde Towne started as an online retailer, then added a brick-and-mortar location due to its growing popularity.
The Challenge
Olde Towne Cutlery owners called on the Pack at Mopdog to help with their online presence needs, from developing a visually appealing brand identity to creating an engaging, clean, professional website, social media presence, and a content strategy to maximize engagement. As a new business in the market, Olde Towne Cutlery and its owners desired to start strongly – through high reach, visibility, and engagement. Knowing there is a strong community of knife enthusiasts online, the company needed to tap into the nationwide audience and learn how to offer the best helpful industry insights and appealing products that stand out from the competition.
Problem Solved
After sharing our findings from our discovery stage and finalizing concept approvals, our designers created the company logo, encompassing the essence of the company of a local, family-owned business. Additionally, we developed a logo for their in-house brand of knives and a company mascot named “Cutler.” Our strategy and messaging surrounding the mascot allowed Olde Towne Cutlery to position Cutler as a credible resource to gain insight into quality knives built for various purposes and situations.
In addition to the new brand development, our team set up a Facebook page, Instagram account, and Pinterest profile for Olde Towne Cutlery to meet their customers where they are. In just over a few months, during a paid social media campaign on Facebook and Instagram, Mopdog helped both accounts gain hundreds of loyal and engaged followers, and the numbers keep growing. By properly setting up these business channels and driving posts back to the website, we increased website traffic, company visibility and online purchases. We also helped develop an SEO strategy for highly searched words in the industry when users purchase cutlery products. Using SEO best practices, we implemented those keywords into the photo tags and product descriptions. One month after launch, Olde Towne Cutlery received almost 18,000 pageviews from roughly 4,100 visitors. Just over half a year later, with two-thirds of the website traffic derived from SEO alone, the company received, on average, 45,000 pageviews from 10,000 visitors – and the numbers only continue to rise.
The Pack developed a brand for their in-house products.
We also created ‘Cutler,’ the company mascot.
