Georgia Municipal Association is an organization made up of city officials determined to make cities stronger and deal with the challenges of cityhood each day. GMA represents more than 520 cities and consolidated governments by advocating on their behalf at the state Capitol and in Washington, D.C., providing their leaders with training, information and resources to lead, as well as the services to be more effective and efficient.

The Challenge
The state of Georgia needed to have stronger recruitment and retention strategies and marketing collateral for city government jobs. This marketing would need to focus on the idea of individuals starting a career in city government to obtain stability, fulfillment, and work satisfaction as they impact their cities and obtain growth opportunities. Looking for marketing and communications support, GMA, in conjunction with Georgia City Solutions, connected with Mopdog to develop strategic and creative resources to help the state of Georgia's recruitment efforts at the city level.
Problem Solved
The first stage of support included the development of the Starts With Me! Campaign, a comprehensive campaign for city governments, internal marketing departments, and agencies to implement in their recruitment and retention efforts. The campaign emphasizes the meaningful and impactful aspects of careers in city government, showcasing the numerous benefits of various city roles that foster community growth, engagement, protection, and cleanliness; the campaign focuses on the individual, highlighting the need for people who want to make an impact in their communities to step up and apply for a position within the city.
Mopdog created a campaign logo for all cities to use for campaign recognition and consistency. The “Starts with Me!” logo showcases the impact people can have in the state of Georgia and empowers them to believe that they are the starting point to making a community impact. The campaign includes design collaterals that can be updated and showcased through print and digital communication channels, including social media graphics, rack cards, and full-page ads. To ensure campaign recognition and consistency, Mopdog created a campaign guideline for Georgia cities' internal marketing departments and agencies.
To support the cities’ social media advertisement efforts, Mopdog also provided several social ad graphics to advertise open positions that fit the brand guidelines and would comply with the different platforms’ boost post/advertising policies. Mopdog created banner ad templates that can be created in a variety of sizes and adapted to suit a specific city’s needs/identity.
