Adapting your Business Strategy During a Crisis

We are living in unprecedented times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Times of crisis tend to bring uncertainty to businesses and organizations. Times of crisis also provide opportunities for organizations to rethink and re-assess their business strategy.

Consider the following:

Put everything into perspective. Within less than 45 days, the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the business environment and the lives of individuals faster than anyone could have prepared, leading to many unknowns that still require answers.

It all begins at home. During a crisis, internal communications are vital. Ensure you remain in constant contact with your team members. Communicate with them consistently (virtual meetings, individual check-ins, etc.), and ensure you provide transparency regarding the state of your organization.

Speed is key. Just like any crisis or unexpected event impacting business, organization leaders need to go into “hyper speed” to assess, plan, communicate and reinforce messaging. Reach your client base and stakeholders. If you don’t, they will think you are out of business or do not have a plan.

Enhance urgency to communicate. Focus on the facts (who, what, how, where, etc.), and acknowledge the unknowns, especially when discussing a topic as novel as COVID-19. Issue your Continuity Plan statements early on, which may highlight your organization’s essential vs. non-essential business status.

Being proactive about your strategy during a crisis is extremely important. Communication is an essential part of this process, and we can help. At Mopdog, we have the expertise and solutions to support your business during these difficult times. Contact us!
