The Science of Making An Impact
As quoted from John Maxwell, “Leaders become great, not because of their power, but because of their ability to empower others.” That is exactly what our Chief Strategy Officer and chief do-gooder is helping to do behind the scenes at Ford Elementary School. Almost a decade ago, Cheryl helped to lead the charge with a handful of parents, educators and community leaders to empower the faculty, students and their parents to stretch their curiosity and tap into accelerated science-related learning.
Eight years ago, enough monies were raised to fully fund an innovative Science Lab teacher and classroom and support the support the learning gardens surrounding Ford Elementary School in Cobb County, Georgia. Fast forward to 2016 where the Science Lab has earned the distinction of becoming AdvancED STEM Certified. This certification recognizes that our STEM educational programs have met the rigor and substance vital to creating and sustaining superior, student-centered STEM teaching and learning programs.
