Join In on the Fun for National Limerick Day!
On this day in 1812, English poet Edward Lear was born. Lear would go on to popularize the use of limerick with his book, “Book of Nonsense.”
A limerick is a short, nonsensical poem that is meant to invoke humor. Limericks are set up in a simple rhyming structure—AABBA—making it easy for anyone to write one!
At Mopdog, our graphic designers are constantly challenged to create fun illustrations. But this time, it was our writing staff’s turn to stretch our creative muscles.

There once was a dog from Bombay,
Who spoke and played games, so they say.
His notebook he opens
To write some short poems
On National Limerick Day.
