What do blogging, a vast array of plugins and 14 million downloads have in common? All three describe WordPress, the widely acclaimed blogging tool, publishing platform and our go-to content management system. WordPress utilizes thousands of different plugins that make web site management easier and more efficient while also giving the manager more options to create a one-of-a-kind site. In celebration of its 11th birthday, we asked our resident “web guys” what some of their favorite plugins are. They included…

We also asked what they love most about WordPress in general…

“I’d say the best thing about WordPress is how powerful it can be with the correct plugins,” Zack mentioned from a developer’s standpoint.  “Using Advanced Custom Fields, I’ve done some really cool dynamic stuff that is all easily editable in the WordPress backend. It also just saves a ton of time.”

Byron had a little bit more to say about WordPress from a client perspective. “It gives clients an elegant and intuitive way to edit the content on their site. Plugins, like Advanced Custom Fields, allow developers to make every element on the site easy for the client to edit without having to see all the coding behind the scenes.”
