From Challenges to Solutions: Mopdog’s Creative Support for Rockmart’s Workforce Development

Recently, Mopdog was featured in an article by the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA), a voluntary, non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening Georgia’s cities and addressing the daily challenges of municipal governance. Like many other cities, Rockmart faced challenges such as low retention rates, communication gaps, and recruitment difficulties. The article highlighted Mopdog’s work with the city of Rockmart, Georgia, in partnership with GMA and Georgia City Solutions, to develop strategic and creative resources aimed at enhancing recruitment efforts at the city level throughout Georgia.
Mopdog connected with Rockmart and other Georgia cities to research their recruitment and retention needs and create custom deliverables for use across various communication channels to promote job opportunities and benefits. Additionally, participating cities received technical assistance for workforce development assessments, leading to strategic plans with actionable steps to enhance their initiatives.
Mopdog then developed recruitment materials that the city could use to advertise job openings, including design collaterals that can be updated and showcased through print and digital communication channels, including social media graphics, rack cards, and full-page ads.
We created a series of posters and cards that illustrated opportunities in each department using photos of actual city employees emphasizing the meaningful and impactful aspects of the careers in city government, showcasing the numerous benefits of various city roles that foster community growth, engagement, protection, and cleanliness. For the first time, the city has materials that can be used for recruitment efforts at job fairs, the local technical college, the library, and on its website.
“It is really helpful to have something we can give people to take with them at job fairs. We didn’t have any kind of collateral. It really benefits the city and it’s another great thing that came out of the JWP Initiative.” – Delmos Stone, Rockmart’s Director of Planning.
Now, the city of Rockmart is fully staffed and has the communication materials needed to keep growing and maintain their campaign. Mopdog is honored to have supported GMA’s outstanding efforts in providing cities in Georgia with the tools and strategic support to drive recruitment for city jobs and inform audiences of the excellent benefits of working for their city.
