Creative Agency Myths Debunked

We’re a creative agency (design and marketing) so we all work on an Apple Mac, ride around the office on scooters and sit in a huge room and “brainstorm” all day, right? While the first may be true, the others are not. We are going to dispel some common creative agency myths–the fun ones and the serious ones!

MYTH: The office is just a huge playground
TRUTH: While we may work in an office spanning 5,460 square feet, we don’t use scooters to get around and we don’t have offices with bouncy balls and other items for “creative inspiration.” We do have a little bit of fun every once in a while, with a lunchtime gaming session or after hours pedicure, but typically we are in professional mode around the office.

MYTH: Brainstorming is just an excuse to hangout and chat
TRUTH: New projects and collaboration are exciting at our office and when we are all in a room together we really are generating ideas and concepts. There may be the occasional digression but it always comes back to the task at hand.

MYTH: They have break rooms that other companies dream about
TRUTH: We do have a newly designed lounge area complete with couches, tables and a kitchenette. However, if you aren’t into espresso, brewed coffee or popcorn, then you better BYOS (bring your own snack). And yes, we do have chilled Vitamin Water in our fridge and hot Nespresso espresso brewing.

MYTH: New clients are just another number
TRUTH: A new client comes with a new project and for us that means concepting and going back to the drawing board. This is something we love to do! When our clients come to us, they become a part of the Mopdog family. We love to get to know you, your company and all of your needs.

So, some of the myths are true, we work on Macs and drink Vitamin Water, but we also create tight-knit client relationships, operate in a professional atmosphere and take our work seriously. Did we miss any myths? Leave us a comment and we will gladly debunk it!
