CP Kelco Visit!
The Mopdog Team had a great visit today from our friend Bruce Hein at CP Kelco! Bruce’s background as a “Mad” Food Scientist made him great at presenting the CP Kelco specialty hydrocolloids and what they do for different products. We have worked in the background with CP Kelco on website design, print and web advertising, brochure design, and overall branding. It was great for the team to see first hand what these hydrocolloids do for products we use every day!
CP Kelco ingredients touch a wide variety of industrial applications, consumer and household products, tailored to meet the needs of regional consumers.
CP Kelco key product lines are Gellan Gum, Pectin, Cellulose Gum, Xanthan Gum, Carrageenan, Carboxymethyl Cellulose and Microparticulated Whey Protein Concentrate, as well as other unique biopolymers.
Below are just a few examples of the all-natural CP Kelco hydrocolloids and where they are used:
Pectin – tortillas, yogurt, coconut pecan frosting, Smucker’s jelly, Dijon mustard, coconut juice and much more. In the coconut juice, right, we could truly see how the pectin helped keep the coconut chunks floating. Without this hydrocolloid, this consistency would not be possible.
Xanthan Gum- Instant cake, donuts, microwave cake, instant cinnamon rolls, veggie dogs, Fig Newtons, marinade, etc.
Carrageenan- Deli meat, flan, all-natural fruit jelly, and more.
