Content marketing will drive 2014
The end of the year is approaching fast and many marketers are looking past the holiday season and are focusing on strategy for 2014. But what differences will the New Year bring for marketing departments? Eighty percent of chief marketing officers agree that content marketing is the way of the future.
Nearly 50 percent of companies already have some type of content marketing strategy in place. However, that means roughly half do not. If you currently don’t have one, consider making a blog part of your 2014 strategy. B2B companies that blog generate 67 percent more leads than those who don’t. If you decide to incorporate a blog into your marketing strategy, it’s important to focus on creating new and interesting content accompanied with appealing visuals that your readers would want to share across their social media platforms, such as Facebook.
And don’t forget to include social sharing buttons with strong call to actions throughout your content, especially emails. Statistics show that emails with social sharing buttons increase click through rates by 158 percent. And by driving your readers to other platforms you increase your chances of obtaining new customers. This year, 52 percent of all marketers found a customer via Facebook.
