Boys & Girls Clubs ‘Open the Door’ to Great Work by Mopdog
At the beginning of the year, Mopdog was awarded a yearlong contract as the exclusive design firm for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta (BGCMA). In the last few months, the partnership has truly blossomed.
Mopdog has provided creative expertise in collaboration with leaders from several departments at BGCMA—fundraising, marketing, special events, resource development and programming. The focus has largely been on infusing a new look cohesively throughout every piece of collateral, based on the ‘Open the Door to Possibilities’ theme. Our professionally designed pieces have been used to craft direct mail pieces (newsletters, invites and donation cards) and event signage for an annual fundraiser.
BGCMA’s Promise for Our Children
Each year, Putt for Promise gathers stakeholders and donors for a golf tournament. This year, Mopdog was tasked with updating and modernizing all event signage with the ‘Open the Door to Possibilities’ theme.
The 2015 Putt for Promise charity event focused on one of the organization’s core pillars—ensuring metro Atlanta youth are adopting healthier lifestyles. BGCMA serves more than 3,500 children and teens each day. The organization is working to ensure by 2020 that 90 percent of the youth BGCMA serves are graduating on time, living healthy lifestyles, and giving back to their communities.
Our brand design team crafted fun pieces aimed at educating supporters about the real, successful impact BGCMA has on metro Atlanta children. These “Did You Know…” signs displayed statistics and authentic images of children, learning about the importance of proper nutrition, increased physical activity and the growing number of sports programs.
In the News
Another large project Mopdog recently completed for BGCMA is their Great Futures summer newsletter. This direct mail piece is familiar to supporters, so, our designers did not want to completely change the approach. The goal was to create a brighter look, with many authentic photographs of youth participating at metro Atlanta Clubs, and add elements of the ‘Open the Door to Possibilities’ theme.
This trifold, direct mail brochure required experts from every department of our all-inclusive firm to edit each section of written material, design graphic elements and cull together all of the resources into a cohesive message.
Special Moments of Appreciation
Besides our design expertise, Mopdog has provided strategic guidance to BGCMA on how to build a connection with supporters on a personal level, either through intimate events or messaging that shares a success story. Our strategists collaborated with BGCMA on a private, personal-touch trustee dinner featuring guest speaker, Dr. Condoleezza Rice. Mopdog produced the save-the-date pieces, invites and donation cards. These types of touch points are a great way to gain undivided attention from perspective donors or long-time supporters, especially for capital campaign fundraising or “transformational gifts.”
Another personal touch inspired by the collaborative efforts of the Mopdog team with BGCMA was a Mother’s Day spring appeal. We worked together to craft a beautiful, touching card about the power of a mother’s love. A real-life testimonial left a lasting impression that truly demonstrates the importance of every donation.
