Art, Community and Fun: Supporting the 2021 Chalktoberfest
Chalktoberfest is an excellent start to the fall season, and our pack was very excited to support this wonderful event.
To begin, our former pack member Adam Stephenson participated as one of the chalk artists, representing Mopdog with a beautiful, colorful and intricate chalk drawing. Our pack also provided design services for Chalktoberfest’s signage at no cost, a tradition we have been keeping since 2015.
Hosted by The Marietta Cobb Museum of Art, Chalktoberfest is a combination of the annual Chalk Art Festival with the Craft Beer Festival and took place on the Historic Marietta Square, October 9 and 10. This year, the festival hosted 84 artists and 40 breweries, bringing the local community a fun and engaging way to celebrate the arts.
About Mopdog’s Chalk Art:
To highlight a couple of treasured symbols of life in the south, Adam chose to draw a red-winged blackbird and some magnolia blossoms. Adam explained that he painted the blackbird blue instead of black because “what’s the point of being an artist if you can’t bend reality a little bit?” Well said, Adam. He had a wonderful time doing what he loves and looks forward to more chalk events in 2022.
Watching Adam and other professional artists create striking chalk art, tasting craft beers, listening to live music by local artists, and eating great food wasn’t the worst way to spend a Saturday or Sunday afternoon! We are grateful to Chalktoberfest for welcoming Mopdog once again, and to Adam for his incredible work. It is an honor to provide our services to such a fun and engaging event for our community.
