Are You Tweeting to Your Full Potential?

At Mopdog, it may seem like we talk a lot about Twitter, but that’s because it is one of the most widely used social media outlets for both large and small businesses. So, it’s important to be sure you’re using it to the fullest potential.

Social media is a great tool to build relationships and spread information, but like anything else it is only as good as you make it. We came across this interesting article from Mashable highlighting telltale facts from a Tweeting study.

1 – Many Tweeters forget to use hashtags (#); only 24% of tweets used them. A good number to remember when it comes to #tagging is use at least two, but no more than three.

2 – There is a “Tweet spot;” the article tells us this occurs around 4 p.m. and a higher engagement occurs between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.

3 – It’s okay to ask people to “retweet;” this was one of the most prominent statistics from the article. Findings showed that asking for a “RT” got a 12x higher response rate and asking for a “retweet” received a 23x higher response rate!
