5 Reasons Your Brand Content is Failing
January 9, 2013
Are you spending hours and hours developing and posting content for your company with little or no reward? Read Mashable’s 5 reasons why your brand content is failing:
- You haven’t developed a voice – If your trying to promote a hip, young, trendy brand, you don’t need to have an older adult writing the messages. Be consistent to your voice, whatever it may be.
- You focus on self-promotion – Usually if a product is promoted all the time, few people will click on the content and even fewer will share it. Consumers expect to read something that brings value to their lives. If you look like an advertisement all the time, they won’t be invested.
- You’re not guest writing anywhere – Submit your articles to industry related publications and websites. It’s a win-win, because they love getting free content to post, and it will help get your brand name out there.
- You’re not distributing your content – The smaller your online following is, the longer it takes to gain more followers. Try websites like Outbrain, a article and video distribution platform that helps you target the readers who are actually interested in your content.
- You’re not using your content to its full potential – Know which type of content works well on each platform. Don’t rule out videos. Because of cheap technology and an increase of actors in a recession, it is actually very simple to create share-worthy videos.
