Move over selfie, because there’s a new word in town!

We told you not too long ago that the word of the year, as announced by Oxford Dictionaries, was selfie. Cute right? A social media word that pairs perfectly with Instagram and Snapchat, two social media platforms that recently gained popularity and were seemingly created just for those dedicated selfie-takers.

Well getting back to the dictionary—and words that have been around for decades—the American Dialect Society recently announced that “because” is the word of the year for 2013.

Around here we are happy with the news. Why? We are all about engagement and because is a great word to use in call to actions to engage the audience. As seen in a study, when because is used it makes more people comply.
