5 Tips for Successful Social Media Marketing

1. Find your voice! Your voice is important to your brand’s recognition. Posting on a blog is the perfect venue to experiment and establish this voice. Be knowledgeable of what is happening in your field and post content that others would want to share.
2. Make sure the conversation is not one-sided. Your goal is to reach as many people as possible. With that in mind, it’s important to remember that engaging with others about what matters to them is more important than talking about yourself. This is not to say that you shouldn’t talk about yourself, just be sure to take time and listen to what others in your social circles are talking about and join in on the conversation.
3. Interact with others. Everyone loves interaction on their social media pages. Instead of asking customers to follow/like you, instead try interacting with others who share similar content. By doing so you are welcoming others to view your pages and start a conversation.
4. Be a great storyteller. The design and visual aspects of your social media content are important but will only be seen if the content is interesting enough to drive traffic to your pages.
5. Give your followers permission to speak.  Ask them to join in on the conversation. This can be easy as posting an article and asking your followers their opinions or implementing a question and answer session.
