Project For Awesome 2013: DBA Foundation
People around the world could always use a little cheer, especially during the holiday season. In 2007, YouTube’s vlogbrothers set out to spread some cheer by creating Project For Awesome.
Project For Awesome challenges the people of the Internet to come together for two days in an effort to “decrease world suck” by fighting poverty, illiteracy and overall trying to make the world a better place to live. Every year on Dec. 17 and 18, people are invited to donate money and upload videos to projectforawesome.com advocating for their favorite charity. Viewers around the world see videos posted throughout the two-day period and vote on their favorite ones. At the end of the project, the donated money is distributed amongst the top ten most voted for charities.
This year, I submitted a video about Diamond Blackfan Anemia, the blood disorder that my younger brother and I struggle with. You can check out my video and vote for it here!
