Pawprints From the Pack: Tricia Saul Thomas

Mopdog’s Senior Art Director, Tricia Saul-Thomas, has been with Mopdog since 2002. She is a master at layout and design, with over 24 years of experience in graphics and print production. Tricia completes collateral from conception to production while leading many projects and providing expert advice. We recently sat down with Tricia for an interview to share her expertise and guidance, which continues to shape Mopdog’s creative strategy and design.

How would you describe your design style, and how has it evolved over your career at Mopdog?

Tricia: Depends on the project and the client. My favorite would be Minimalism, but mostly Corporate. Over the years, I have done a little bit of everything, such as typographic, abstract, geometric, illustrated, three-dimensional, and grunge.

Over the years, what are some of the biggest shifts in digital and graphic design that you’ve experienced?

Tricia: Moving from print design to digital design, and now with AI and automation.

What techniques or approaches have had the greatest impact on your work?

Tricia: Keeping up with the software, being adaptable, and constantly learning new tools.

Are there any Mopdog projects, campaigns, or milestones that stand out as personal favorites or defining moments in your career here?

Tricia: Too many great projects over the years to just focus on one.

What continues to fuel your passion for design after more than 25 years in the industry?

Tricia: Solving problems and seeing creations come to life.

How do you challenge yourself to stay inspired and innovative?

Tricia: Disconnect regularly to prevent burnout and enjoy the natural world.

As Mopdog continues to grow and evolve, what excites you most about the future of the firm and the role design will play in shaping its success?

Tricia: Innovation, adaptability, and creating a memorable brand identity for our clients.

What advice would you give to designers who are just starting in the industry?

Tricia: Be well-rounded and embrace feedback
