Meet Connor!

Connor joined the pack on June 2021 as Mopdog’s Front-End Developer. We connected with Connor to learn a little more about him and his passions, so check out what he had to say:

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am 22 years old, born and raised in Buford, GA, and graduated from Mill Creek High School in 2017. I was a part of the drumline all 4 years of high school and obtained many marching awards at competitions.

I graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Information Systems degree in May 2021. I was a part of the honor society Phi Eta Sigma and the Kennesaw State University Marching Band (The Marching Owls) Drumline.

Due to my last year of college being the height of COVID-19, I did not receive a final season; because of this, I was allowed to come back for one final year after graduation and experience one last season as a Marching owl. I have been the drumline captain from 2018 to 2021 (current season).

What do you do at Mopdog?
I am the Front-End Developer. Anything relating to the websites we create and manage goes through me. Ranging from entire website builds to simple updates, I’m the guy for the job.

What do you like the most about your job?
It’s the ability to take a company that has no online presence and then build out their website and launch it to allow them to have an online face. In 2021, it’s more important than ever to be discoverable online, and that all starts with a website and social media.

The most enjoyable part of my job is when I get a design mockup of a website and then make it into an actual website. Every website presents its own challenges, and being able to take on those challenges, learn new things, and solve problems is one of my favorite things about the job. It keeps me on my toes and learning every single day in the office.

Who or what inspires you?
In a sense, I feel like I inspire myself. I have an ideal future I want for myself and checkmarks along the way I want to hit. I wake up every day thinking about how I can get closer and closer to those goals I’ve set for myself. This keeps me inspired and motivated to work hard every day. The biggest thing to me is to always be making new goals, big or small, that I can keep checking off.

What do you like to do outside of work?
Outside of work I spend a lot of time doing drumline. During the height of the season, practice is 10 hours a week, so work and practice keep me fairly busy.

Besides that, I enjoy hiking at Kennesaw Mountain and exploring new places. I also enjoy spending time with friends, whether that’s hanging out at someone’s house, going to dinner, or playing some games.

Share a fun fact about you.
In 2018, I was part of the first football game to ever take place at SunTrust Park (Now Truist Park), and the game went into 5 overtime and became the FCS football game of the year.

Also, here is a second one because that one isn’t necessarily specifically about me, it’s just cool. As of the 2021 season, I am now the longest-serving drumline captain of the Kennesaw State University Drumline serving four consecutive years.

We are very excited to have Connor in our team and for you to get to know about him a bit more.
