Here's Our Blog Post, So Read It Maybe?
It all began with Carly Rae Jepsen and her hit pop song “Call Me Maybe,” which has spent more time on the Billboard Top 100 songs than any other song in 2012. Since then a “Call Me Maybe” video sensation has taken over. Sports teams across the US are dancing to the hit!
Harvard baseball team started the phenomena with their original on the road video choreography that has over 15 million views. But this video has since been topped by many other sports teams with the same enthusiasm for the catchy pop song. The videos have made it all the way to the 2012 London Olympics. The USA swim team had a blast creating a “Call Me Maybe” production on their journey to the 2012 Olympic games. There was also a “Call Me Maybe” video made by a YouTube fan with the channel called NOC. His is a little bit of a different take on the idea–a parody with lyrics that show the “rivalry” between Phelps and Lochte going into to the 2012 Olympic Games.
