Georgia Municipal Association is an organization made up of city officials determined to make cities stronger and deal with the challenges of cityhood each day. GMA represents more than 520 cities and consolidated governments by advocating on their behalf at the state Capitol and in
Washington, D.C., providing their leaders with training, information and resources to lead, as well as the services to be more effective and efficient.

THE SITUATION
The state of Georgia needed to have stronger recruitment and retention strategies and collateral for city government jobs. This marketing would need to focus on the idea of individuals starting a career in city government to obtain stability, fulfillment and work satisfaction as they impact their cities and obtain opportunities for growth.

PROBLEM SOLVED
Mopdog created a campaign guideline for cities in Georgia, internal marketing departments and agencies. Focusing on the heartwarming side of working in city government and detailing benefits that come from various city positions that support and strengthen the community (e.g., growth, city engagement, protection, clean streets, etc.), the campaign helps recruit and retain employees as they realize why they chose positions within the city and why they should if they haven’t already. The campaign zones in on the individual, calling out the need for people who want to make an impact in their communities to step up and apply for a position within the city.
