Event planning: corporate baby shower

We got a call from one of our clients to plan a baby shower for a coworker and his wife expecting their very first baby. Talk about a fun project! Of course, we were more than happy to get the job done. We wanted to share a few of our insights from the event for planning your next corporate baby shower.

Start with booking the venue
A classy baby shower (scheduled in a few short weeks) requires a location just as elegant. In our case, we went with The Georgian Club, a beautiful high-rise in Atlanta complete with a skyline view. Choosing this as our party spot made it easy to create the menu and ensure a private room with plenty of seating and tables. It was all included in the package–hors d’oeuvres too!

We opted to use an outside vendor for some additional menu items. Our favorite Kennesaw-based chocolatier, Candy Man, created custom pink and white gourmet treats for the party–cake pops, hand-dipped pretzel rods and chocolate dipped sandwich cookies, with just a “hint of mint.”

Come up with a theme
Since we were planning for parents expecting a girl, our designer landed on a very pink circus theme. The invitation featured a sweet little elephant and the details came together from there.

Design your pieces & find decorations
After the invitation was created, we designed matching pieces to go with the theme including circus centerpieces, a welcome sign, gift table signs, a thank you piece to go on the takeaway table and bingo boards. The décor all stemmed from this circus idea and featured a pink canopy to look like a tent, burlap accents and drapes of pink fabric to bring at all together. We also sprinkled a couple of oversized circus animals throughout the room!

Bring it all together
Once we had our pieces printed and ready to go, we headed over to the venue to set-up for the event. With our game plan in mind, we got to the club early (you want to give yourself plenty of time) and turned a plain room into a pretty, pink, playful baby shower!

We asked you to guess what our mystery item was on Instagram…the answer is, a pink bedroom canopy!
