Cans, Celebrations and Capes!
Cheers to 50 years! Part of the Mopdog team attended the E. Smith Heating & Air Opening House yesterday in Marietta at the Earl Smith Strand Theatre. Bill, Cheryl, Lauren, Katelyn, Brooke Murphy and Rachael went equipped with bags of canned and other nonperishable foods to donate to The Center for Family Resources Thanks for Giving campaign. The event was filled with action! To start, the Georgia Tech Ramblin’ Wreck pulled up on the red carpet, there was great food, music from the 1-2-9 Barbershop Quartette and Ron Carter on the organ and there were even antique furnaces on display!
Highlights from the Evening:
- Bill – Mayor Thunder Tumlin presenting E. Smith with the Key to the City of Marietta in honor of 50 years of contributions to the city.
- Cheryl – Seeing the amount of canned food that was donated to the CFR and the generous donation from E. Smith and Mingledorff’s who each matched $1 per can. They presented the CFR with a check for $1,514.00!
- Lauren – Watching Barry present flowers to Debbie for all of her hard work. It was nice to see her be appreciated for throwing such a fun event!
- Katelyn – Seeing the GT Rambin’ Wreck pull up onto the red carpet at the Strand! The theatre was the perfect place to host the event!
- Rachael – Debbie wearing the “E. Man” cape and giving her mom flowers as a thank you for her hard work as the “first official E. Smith employee.”
- Brooke M – It was great to see such a large turnout. The support from the community is what makes local businesses thrive and what made this event a success!
