Pawprints From the Pack: Kinleigh Stancill

Kinleigh is Mopdog’s Content Manager, responsible for developing and managing content for a variety of our clients’ social media platforms, website blogs, and other marketing collateral, such as presentations, brochures, and handouts. Kinleigh is also accountable for developing data reports for monthly or quarterly analytical assessments and completing monthly competitor analysis reports for clients. Kinleigh just completed two years at Mopdog, and we recently sat down with Kinleigh for an interview to share her expertise and guidance.
How would you describe your content and storytelling approach, and how has it evolved over your career at Mopdog?
Communicating effectively and delivering a strategy that is thoughtful, energetic, and strong is always the goal. It starts with the basic concept of ‘what do people need to know?’ and ‘how are they going to learn the answer?’ Starting there is always a great way to write content without getting overwhelmed by the details. My approach has evolved since working at Mopdog to adjust to each client’s needs and goals. Every client is different, and by understanding what makes each client’s unique tone, style, and brand, I can better serve their project’s needs.
Over the last two years, what has been the most valuable piece of knowledge that has made an impact on your work?
I have learned to rely on others and that collaboration is important. By working with my team members, we can solve problems more effectively, and everyone’s perspectives and ideas can really make a difference in a project.
Are there any Mopdog projects, campaigns, or milestones that stand out as personal favorites or defining moments in your career here?
There are so many great projects from the past two years, but I really enjoy drafting and creating the monthly Mopdog newsletter. I love using funny dog puns and pictures and sharing our thought leadership articles, service highlights, and company news with our subscribers. It took me a few months to get the hang of it, but I finally got it and enjoy developing them together every month.
What continues to fuel your passion for content marketing, and how do you challenge yourself to stay creative, strategic, and ahead of trends?
With content marketing constantly evolving and new trends coming and going, I challenge myself to stay creative by taking time to think about what’s possible for the brand and how it fits with changing trends while staying true to its identity.
What advice would you give to someone just starting out in content marketing or communications?
Be open to feedback and don’t be afraid to ask questions.
