Mopdog Supports Local Giving Campaign
A season filled with of crisp autumn air and pumpkin-flavored treats means it is time for Cobb County to rally behind The Center for Family Resources’ Thanks for Giving Campaign. This year marks the 29th year of the annual charity campaign by The CFR, a nonprofit organization that works to stabilize and empower families so they may become self-sufficient.
This year, the CFR’s food drive will push to provide Thanksgiving meals for 1,400 Cobb families in need. The goal is to raise $150,000, as well as food items, from individuals, schools and companies. CFR organizers say this annual drive allows families to create a tradition behind yearly giving. “The Thanksgiving Tradition. It’s more than a meal.”
Each year, thousands of individuals walk through CFR’s doors seeking help. For families in need, the Thanksgiving and Christmas Registration runs from Oct. 13 to 14 at the Cobb Civic Center on Marietta Parkway. For more information call 770-428-2601 or visit TheCFR.org.
